The City of St Joseph and the John & Dede Howard Ice Arena are excited to welcome women’s hockey to the ice arena this Sunday, December 18, 2022.
The Grand Rapids Griffins will host Team Indiana. The U16 teams will play at 11:00am. The Griffins are coached by Tae Otte and comprised of girls from all over west Michigan age 16 and under. Several schools are represented and it is considered a Tier 2 travel team.
Team Indiana is coached by Torey Crown and includes players from all of Indiana. The U19 game will begin at 4:30pm. This Griffins team is also coached by Tae Otte, who played NCAA D1 women’s hockey for Lindenwood University in St Louis Missouri. She is the director of girl’s hockey for GRAHA (Grand Rapids Area Hockey Association).
The U19 Team Indiana is coached by Kris May. The U19 Griffins’ roster includes, Keira Schaub, a senior at St Joseph high school. She plans to play NCAA Division III collegiate hockey at Adrian College, Adrian, MI. The U16 Griffins’ roster includes Jordanna Goodhart, a Benton Harbor resident who is homeschooled. Keira & Jordanna are excited to play in front of family and friends this weekend.
The John & Dede Howard open skate schedule has been modified this weekend. Due to the U19 game beginning at 4:30pm, open skate will end at 4:00pm.
