High winds, heavy wave action, and ongoing near record lake levels on Lake Michigan are taking a toll this morning on the South Haven harbor municipal marina. South Haven’s Tom Renner has shared some amazing photos showing the incredibly high water along the Black River Channel in South Haven and waves smashing against the South Haven pier and lighthouse.
He says that when he captured the photos this morning waves were topping nine feet with great regularity driven by stiff winds. Fortunately for boaters who routinely dock along the Black River in those marina slots, the season is largely over, and most boats have been removed to winter storage.
