The band Hickory Creek Revival is made up of four siblings who grew up playing folk and uegrass music in the St. Joseph area back in the ’70s. Now the Willeys are returning to their hometown for a concert on Friday, November 8, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Box Factory for the Arts, 1101 Broad St.

Tickets purchased online are $15 cabaret seating and $12 general admission, or $15 at the door. A cash bar will be available.
The Willeys began playing music together as teens under the name Hickory Creek. Although they have since dispersed throughout Michigan and followed different musical paths, the four continue to perform together and have revived the band as, fittingly, Hickory Creek Revival. Band members are Andy Willey on guitar, Rick on fiddle and mandolin, Bob on banjo and harmonica, and Rose Willey joining her brothers on vocals.
Last year Hickory Creek Revival released a CD, “Before Too Long,” featuring a collection of songs that showcase the band’s musical roots. It includes four originals by Andy as well as off-the-beaten-track folk songs and two Gram Parsons covers. The CD is available at the Box Factory, on Spotify, and at the band’s website. “Playing at the Box Factory is a homecoming, of sorts,” says Bob Willey, who moved back to St. Joseph five years ago. “We’re excited to celebrate our musical journey in the community where it all began.”
That Friday night will be a busy one at the Box Factory. Hickory Creek Revival performs at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 8, immediately following the free opening reception for the Berrien Artist Guild Member Show, 5:30-7 p.m.
