Whitmer and Cornerstone Alliance Confirm Stealth Trailers Move to Berrien Springs

While Stealth Enterprises isn’t saying anything publicly about its upcoming expansion to Berrien Springs, the Governor’s office is talking about it… and Cornerstone Alliance is hailing the move for bringing 50 new jobs to Berrien County.

MoodyOnTheMarket.com reported on Monday that Stealth was hiring workers for a planned September opening of an RV production line in a former die-cast plant on North Tudor Road, Berrien Springs.  Stealth Enterprises placed recruiting ads, but declined to talk about the project.

Today, the Governor’s office is talking about the project, along with a smaller one in St. Clair County, praising Stealth Enterprises and crediting state-sponsored economic development programs for making the move happen.  Whitmer’s office said in a statement:

“The project is expected to generate a total capital investment of $791,538 and create 50 jobs. It is supported by a $250,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant. Michigan was chosen for the expansion due to the company’s growing customer base and relationships with Michigan-based suppliers, according to the company.”

Cornerstone Alliance, Northern Berrien County’s economic development organization also commented on the Stealth project.  “We are thrilled that Stealth Enterprises, LLC has decided to expand in Berrien County,” said Cathy Tilley, Director of Business Development at Cornerstone Alliance. “This project will bring immediate job opportunities in manufacturing to residents.”

According to Whitmer’s office, “The project will bring immediate manufacturing jobs with a growing company to the region and will repurpose a facility that has been vacant for five years. It could also lead to future investment by the company in the state.”

The governor’s release went on to explain, “The company plans to lease an existing facility in Berrien Springs that previously housed a tool and die company. The project will require significant renovations, including the reconstruction of the loading docks, and will also require the purchase of new systems, machinery, and equipment.”

Stealth Enterprises is said to be looking for numerical computer control machinists and welders for the Berrien Springs opportunities.
