Waterfront House of Framing and Fashion will be hosting ‘Catwalk on the Waterfront’, a Spring fashion show and mixer on Sunday February 26, 2023 from 3pm to 6pm. This event will benefit The Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Michigan (CAC). Catwalk on the Waterfront will feature a 70-foot runway with models wearing the newest Spring fashions from national and regional designers including KozySaila, Undercover Popular, Yellow Triangles and more. The owners of Waterfront will also be previewing a piece from their own signature line ‘Grace & Glory’, set to launch in 2023. Over a dozen local models will be featured, including guest model Pawnee, the CAC therapy dog.
“We wanted to bring people together to celebrate the upcoming Spring season, renewal, and most importantly to create an event with purpose and intention,” says co-owner Valerie Byrnes. “The work the CAC does impacts the lives of children who have been in distress and helps them navigate a very difficult process. We want to support that work and shine a light on their important role in our community.”
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Michigan is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency that assists in the investigation, treatment, awareness education, and prevention of child abuse in Southwest Michigan. By bringing together all parties involved in a child abuse investigation – child protective services, law enforcement, the Prosecutor’s office, medical providers, and mental health services – the child tells their story one time, in their child-friendly facility. Since 2002, the CAC has served approximately 10,000 children who were alleged victims of sexual or severe physical abuse. They serve an average of 500 children annually at their agency for forensic interviews, and other therapeutic services.
‘Catwalk on the Waterfront’ begins at 3pm. Doors will open at 2:30pm with the last seating at 2:50pm. Tickets for the event are $75 per person and includes catering by Kingfisher Cocktails & Tacos, a swag bag and a reserved seat along the catwalk for the show.
