Volunteers to spread joy at Bridgman nursing home Saturday

A grassroots non-profit will seek to being some joy to the residents of a Bridgman nursing home this weekend. Carla Cooper with Just Cause Create Joy tells us her group is made up of members from Michigan, Illinois, and North Carolina. They take action to spread just that – joy. On Saturday, they’ll stop by West Woods of Bridgman.

“We’re delivering bags to the residents there that probably could use a little smile, an unexpected smile,” Cooper said. “That’s the other thing that we like to do, kind of unexpectedly deliver happiness to them.”

In the bags will be homemade blankets, stuffed animals, sweets, hand lotion, and more. Cooper says they also donated Christmas gifts last year to the Blessed Noah’s Ark Day care in Benton Harbor. Anyone who wants to help the group with its mission can check out JustCauseCreateJoy.org for more information.
