Volunteers are invited to help remove invasive plant species from Warren Dunes State Park this coming weekend. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says the volunteer stewardship day will run from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Those who help out will remove exotic woody shrubs like autumn olive to improve habitat for migratory bird species. No experience is necessary, and all training and equipment will be provided. Volunteers are urged to wear appropriate gear for working outdoors, including long pants and closed-toe shoes. They’ll meet at the first roadside parking lot on the way to the beach.
