As first reported on WSJM, on May 20, several days after the owner of Orchards Mall in Benton Charter Township agreed to install sonic anti-bird devices, we visited the mall to document the bird population in one area.
On June 8, mall management stated the anti-bird devices have been installed. A fresh video of the area shows the gull population appears to have actually grown.
As seen above, the latest video documenting the gull population at Orchards Mall also shows recently-hatched baby gulls among the population. Mall representatives did not want to comment on exactly how many anti-bird devices were installed and whether more were being considered.
