The Veritas Estate Winery is set to launch an off-site tasting room in South Haven in partnership with Haven Market, a new specialty food store.
Customers will have the opportunity to purchase wine by the bottle for off-premise enjoyment and can sample various wines during the store’s operating hours. The city council of South Haven has recently approved a resolution for the tasting room, which will be situated at 550 Phoenix Street.
City Manager Kate Hosier shared insights about its design.
“The idea is that there will be a small market, so it will be an internal market and they will be allowed to taste wine at certain locations within that market, but that would be not exceeding the exterior 550 Phoenix,” Hosier says.
The primary aim of the off-site tasting room is to complement the specialty food and produce offerings with bottled wine. Haven Market is expected to open in May and will resemble “The Market” in St. Joseph, although it will be on a smaller scale.
