Veggie Van Headed to Coloma Medical Center June 23rd

A veritable mobile farmer’s market is headed to the northern reaches of Berrien County next week offering free healthy foods and information for those with limited access to those foods courtesy of Spectrum Health Lakeland and the YMCA of Greater Michiana. It’s called The Veggie Van.

The Veggie Van, a farmer’s market on wheels that features locally grown, top-quality fruits and vegetables, will make a stop on Tuesday, June 23rd at the Coloma Medical Center, located at 6701 Paw Paw Avenue from noon to 4pm, offering free healthy foods and nutrition information. The event will be held drive-through style and those who take part in the event are asked to remain in their cars.

The goal of the program is to ensure that fruits and vegetables are available to people who otherwise have limited access to fresh produce. The Veggie Van is made possible through the generosity of Spectrum Health and the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids in partnership with Spectrum Health Lakeland and the YMCA of Greater Michiana.
