Unofficial ‘buzz’ suggests Taco Bell coming to Exit 23, former Long John Silver’s site

Social media has been buzzing the past couple of days about the apparent decision by Taco Bell to locate a new restaurant at I-94 Exit 23, at the former site of Long John Silver’s in Stevensville.

Long John Silver’s quietly closed recently.  The only surprise, according to many social media commenters, is that it hadn’t closed long ago.  Rarely have we observed such a general lack of enthusiasm for a disappearing restaurant in the Twin Cities area.  It appears customers—or non-customers– were ‘done’ with Long John Silver’s well before the chain closed the local outlet.

As for Taco Bell’s rumored entry to Exit 23, it appears there’s considerable support, as well as some who long for more exotic and upscale quick-serve restaurants. ‘Raising Cane’s’ and Portillo’s are two that seem to generate a lot of interest but currently have no plans to locate here.

Meanwhile, efforts to get official confirmation of Taco Bell’s plans have not produced anything.  However, the number of separate, unconnected social media posters strongly suggests that Taco Bell indeed will be the new occupant next to Burger King at Exit 23.   Stay tuned!
