United Way Whirlpool Appliance Sale Saturday & Sunday, Oct. 12-13

United Way WHR sale

The annual United Way/ Whirlpool Appliance Sale will take place Saturday, October 12 from 8am-4pm, and Sunday, October 13 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the 211 Hilltop Business Center building in St. Joseph (entrance 74).   That’s old Heath/Zenith building, across Hilltop Road from the United Federal Credit Union headquarters.

The sale is open to the public and offers 300+ discounted Maytag, KitchenAid and Whirlpool brand ovens, ranges, refrigerators, dishwashers, washers and dryers at significant savings. All major appliances are new with a full one-year warranty.

The sale will also feature Gladiator garage units, and KitchenAid small appliances and accessories offered at exclusive prices. Cash and credit cards will be accepted for this sale, and home delivery will be available for a $100 donation per appliance within a 15-mile radius of St. Joseph.

100% of the proceeds from the appliances sold benefit United Way of Southwest Michigan.

“Whirlpool has a long history of supporting United Way of Southwest Michigan through our annual employee give-back campaign, and this event is just one of the many ways our employee volunteers look forward to contributing to the cause,” said Eduardo Andrade, Whirlpool Corporation’s VP of engineering and co-chair of this year’s employee campaign.  “Connecting our community with Whirlpool brands in this way – and seeing the benefit it brings through the United Way – is very rewarding and aligned with our mission to improve life at home.”

Portage-based Clark Logic stepped in to donate a large office space of their 211 Hilltop property, allowing for more inventory to be sold to the public. Clark Logic will spend millions over the next year to completely renovate the space for build-to-suit leases as well as small business incubator spaces.

“There is a certain excitement around this event in our office and the community every time we do this event, but I feel like this year people are really ready to get some deals and help contribute to United Way,” said United Way President & CEO Anna Murphy. “I know the Whirlpool campaign team has been planning this event for months, and we couldn’t be more appreciative of their efforts. Community partnerships like this are the reason we can continue to fund many other impact initiatives in our area.”

Volunteers from the community can also assist with the sale by signing up for volunteer opportunities at volunteer.uwsm.org and clicking on Whirlpool Product Sale. While logistics personnel will be on hand to assist, volunteers are needed to help load smaller items into cars and help customers.
