United Way of Southwest Michigan holding Move to Make a Difference Day, Sept. 16 on Whirlpool Campus

The public is invited to attend “Move to Make a Difference Day,” a family fun and wellness event at Whirlpool Corporation’s Lakeview Campus (2000 M-63 North, Benton Harbor) on Saturday, September 16 from 12-6 p.m.

Whirlpool Corporation Chairman and CEO Marc Bitzer will speak at the event around 1 p.m. The event will feature food, live music, physical fun, an information fair, and more.

There will be activities specifically designed for children and adults including trail hiking, mountain biking, obstacle courses, bounce houses, a golf challenge, and cardio sessions.

Music performances include Deep Fried Pickle Project, Sankofa, and The Backups.

United Way Health Impact Partners will be on-site to share information about the services they provide including Girls on the Run of Southwest Michigan, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Southwest Michigan, YMCA of Greater Michiana, Court Appointed Special Advocates, OutCenter of Southwest Michigan, Cares Sexual Wellness Services, Area Agency on Aging, Senior Nutrition Services, Berrien County Cancer Services, and Benton Harbor Community Development Corporation.

Food will be available for purchase with 10% of the proceeds donated to United Way from the following vendors: Water & Wheat, Base Bowls & Company, Souls Ground Café, Brick House, Evelyn Mae’s BBQ, La Chula, Kona Ice, and Mimi’s Cupcakes.

There is NO CHARGE to attend the event but direct donations to United Way are encouraged.
