The Box Factory for the Arts is hosting a couple of guitar virtuosos on June 29.

The event will feature guitarists Isaiah Gardham and hometown native Aiden Schnell. Schnell returns to where his musical roots are, where he spent most of his time playing old time and folk music.

Schnell told us he’s looking forward to the opportunity to be able to perform in front of his friends, family, and Benton Harbor community.

“It’s been kind of cool to set these up and bring people that weren’t from around here that I’ve met out in Boston who I admire as musicians and bring them back here and kind of see where I grew up and play where I grew up and kind of show off what I’ve been working on with other people,” Schnell said.

The event will feature Gardham and Schnell playing bluegrass and American roots music.

Throughout the rest of year and this summer, The Box Factory is welcoming local musicians and wants to give them a platform to perform in front of visitors and others they grew up with. The Box Factory’s Nancy Willey says she’s looking forward to hearing Schnell perform what he’s been working on, and more performances that will be held later next month.

“This is pretty much part of our mission at the Box,” Willey said. “We support all artists and give them a stage so that the public can come and see and hear them up close.”

The event on June 29 will run from 7 to 9 p.m. and tickets are $12 for general admission or $15 for cabaret seating. You can get them at ticketstripe.com/gardhamandschnell. Walk-in tickets are $15 and there is free admission for children 12 and under.
