Twin City Players has announced that its Brian Swiger Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to Eni Buckhanan of Berrien Springs.
Eni Buckhanan is a homeschool graduate who was dual enrolled for most of high school, including making the Dean’s List at Lake Michigan College for multiple years, and inducted into LMC’s honors society Phi Theta Kappa.
Eni has participated in many theatres in the area, including Children’s Music Workshop, Lake Michigan College, The GhostLight Theatre, The Tin Shop, and Twin City Players. Eni often can be found costuming, and also been props master, stage crew, stage manager, and actor thus far. Eni has also danced for all of high school, in many different styles, and was part of the inaugural class of Dance Arts’ Teaching Conservatory. Eni will be pursuing a BFA in technical theatre as an honors student at Western Michigan University this fall.
The Twin City Players established the Brian Swiger Memorial Scholarship in 1996 in memory of former member Brian Swiger. The scholarships are earmarked for seniors graduating from Berrien County high schools who have demonstrated a strong interest in theater-related activities during their academic careers. Winners, however, can use the award money to pursue any field of study at any accredited college, university, trade school or arts education institution. The scholarship is awarded based upon school and community activities, TCP involvement, grade point average of 2.5 or better, and a short essay.
