Tuesday evening Stevensville ‘Classic Car Cruise-In’ event to benefit United Way

United Way car show

On Tuesday, September 10 from 4-7pm, the annual ‘Classic & Antique Car Cruise-In’ will  take over the parking lot of Martin’s Supermarket in Stevensville. This fun community event, sponsored by 1st Source Bank and Martin’s Supermarket, has been bringing together car enthusiasts and families for over a decade. With a wide variety of vehicles, ranging from vintage classics to sports cars—and even a tank one year—the Cruise-In is a great family event with proceeds benefiting United Way of Southwest Michigan.

Attendees can enjoy plenty of family-friendly activities, including face painting, a cake walk, and era-appropriate music from classic rock radio station 107.9 The Lake.

Food will be available throughout the event, with hotdogs, chips, cookies, popsicles, popcorn, and pop available from local vendors. Martin’s Supermarket will also be offering trophies for standout cars, while Performance Plus, located right in front of Martin’s, is contributing prizes for the winners. Those interested in showing their vehicle can register day-of at the event.

The sponsors of the event say it’s a great partnership that their employees love being involved with.

“1st Source Bank is proud to support United Way of Southwest Michigan once again with the annual Classic & Antique Car Cruise-In,” said Shelli Workman, Michigan Regional President of 1st Source Bank. “Our longstanding partnership with the Stevensville Martin’s Super Market goes back many years, and this event has provided a great volunteer opportunity for both of our teams to give back to the community where many of us live and work. Last year, we had over 100 cars at the Cruise-In and we are looking forward to this year’s event. It is truly a family-friendly event for all ages!”

Michelle Hardaway, Assistant Store Director at Martin’s in Stevensville, says the Martin’s associates really enjoy helping out every year. “The staff helps attendees enjoy great treats while they check out the cars, featuring cookies, popsicles, popcorn and cake for the cake walk. We look forward to this every year!”

United Way of Southwest Michigan’s Senior Director of Organizational Sustainability, Zack East, added: “This is a great example of several United Way employee workplace campaigns working together to create a great event that brings the community together for fun! Thank you so much to these two teams for making a great event that will surely help our communities directly.”

The event, supported by the Lincoln Township Police Department and Fire Department, is expected to raise over $1,000 for United Way of Southwest Michigan thanks to the generosity of these two area businesses and residents.
