Three Nailed in Cass County Liquor Store Beating & Robbery

Two people have been arrested in the armed robbery and beating of a liquor store clerk in Cass County last month, and a third has been identified with warrants out for another arrest, although that person is actually in the Berrien County Jail on unrelated charges.

Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke has updated us on the robbery that took place at the Sunrise Corners Party Store that occurred on April 24th.

The store had three suspects enter shortly before 9:30 that evening and assault the employee. The trio then took money out of the cash resister and fled. The suspects arrested are 40 year old Bernard Gaston from Niles, 21 year old Tajah Martin, also from Niles and the third robber has warrants issued and is currently in the Berrien County Jail on unrelated charges. Both Bernard Gaston and Tajah Martin have been arraigned in Cass County, as the investigation continues.
