They’re certainly busy folks, but don’t be surprised if you see Stacy & Bobby from the Mark III at the movies more often over the next year…if for no other reason to see themselves and their business on the silver screen.
The campaign is over…all the votes have been tabulated and following a real shoot-out at the O.K. Corral, our friends at The Mark III Grille & Bar in St. Joseph have emerged victorious in Celebration! Cinema’s 2018 Celebrated Service Award balloting.
Bobby and Stacy Camp and their hard-working team of employees were engaged in a spirited competition this year in light of the fact that of the ten finalists, seven others were also food establishments in Michigan’s Great Southwest.
They also take the reins from fellow restaurateurs at The Mason Jar in the Benton Harbor Arts District.
The Mark III’s typical Taco Tuesday will likely be booming tonight thanks to their win which earns them a $5,000 cash award, a VIP Party for their entire business, 10 movies passes every month for the next year, a full year of Celebration! Cinema promotion including on their movie screens, in their lobbies, on social media, and beyond, recognition among media partners to help get the word out, and essentially anywhere from $30-to$80K in marketing value over the next year. Additionally, the Mark III team will have the chance to learn what the Celebration team teaches by creating a day of fun, lively training on the topic of service.
The team at Celebration! Cinemas, based in Grand Rapids, revealed the winners first on their Facebook page this afternoon saying simply:
Congratulations to the recipients of the 2018 Celebrated Service Award!
– Benton Harbor – The Mark III Restaurant
– Grand Rapids – Rylee’s Ace Hardware
– Lansing – Vivid Ink
– Mt Pleasant – Pisanello’s Pizza – Mt. Pleasant, MI
– Muskegon – Hamburger Mikey
– Portage – Crow’s Nest Restaurant
The Mark III was up against competitors like Coach’s Bar & Grill, Tim’s Too Asian Grill, and Vivi’s Italian Garden as well as other food service providers such as Full Service Cafe & Espresso Bar, Arriba Taqueria, Edible Arrangements of Benton Harbor, and Mosaic on Main. Other strong contenders were M Squared Modern Hair and The Legacy House, a tattoo practitioner.
The 45 year old landmark has been a hot spot for years. This past summer they hit the 45 year milestone and you can read the rest of their story by clicking this link from my story at that time here on Moody on the Market:

I have a call into Stacy and Bobby and will update this story with their reactions when they get back with me. They were traveling at the time of my contact and unable to respond at that moment.
Stacy says, “We are truly honored and thankful to have so much support from our community! We are also thankful for our amazing and dedicated staff…they really deserve all of the credit! Thank you for voting The Mark III the winner of the Celebrated Service Award! The entire Mark III family is elated and very appreciative!”
Well earned for a truly dynamic team that always reflects the best in customer service and quality food and drink to the customers of Michigan’s Great Southwest.
