The Avenue Family Network Retains International Accreditation

The rigorous road to reaccreditation can be a rocky, time-consuming route, especially in the middle of a global pandemic, but the dedicated team at The Avenue Family Network, Inc. has achieved that milestone for their outstanding service and commitment to their clients, team members, and the community itself in expedited fashion.

The reaccreditation comes from the Council On Accreditation according to Executive Director of The Avenue, Joe Goepfrich.

Founded in 1977, the Council on Accreditation (COA) is an international, independent, nonprofit organization that accredits human and social service providers. Their rigorous program of quality improvement is designed to identify providers that have met high performance standards and have made a commitment to their stakeholders to deliver the very best quality services. The process to become accredited can often take anywhere from 12-18 months to accomplish, as it consists of self-study reports, performance quality improvement reviews, interviews with the leadership team and the organization’s Board of Directors, and an onsite visit from the Council on Accreditation.

Goepfrich says, “To achieve reaccreditation with expedited status, all in the midst of a pandemic no less, is a testament to the strong practices we have in place and our exceptional team members and Board.”

The Avenue first became accredited in Michigan’s Great Southwest in 2004, and the agency requires reaccreditation every four years to maintain that status.

The Avenue Family Network, Inc. is a 501c3 organization, working to empower strong families and safe homes since 1891. The organization includes five divisions, providing adult day services, adult homecare services, guardianship assistance, and services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
