The passion they have for building both stronger businesses and communities has led TCF Bank to donate $25,000 to Cornerstone Alliance in support of small businesses across the region.
As Berrien County’s lead economic development agency, Cornerstone Alliance has been granted $25,000 on behalf of the TCF Bank Community Impact Fund. That Fund’s purpose is to strengthen the bank’s existing relationships with community partners in an effort to “build robust and complex partnerships.” Cornerstone Alliance says it is proud to continue its partnership with TCF, which started with Chemical Bank prior to its merger of equals with TCF Bank, to support the local small business community.
Emmanuel Glover, TCF Director of Community Development and Community Reinvestment Act Officer, says, “TCF Bank is passionate about building stronger businesses and communities, and we recognize that small businesses are the backbone of our neighborhoods. That’s why we are so pleased to continue our support of Cornerstone Alliance and the important work they do helping local businesses grow and succeed.”
The Alliance will provide local small business owners from diverse backgrounds, many of whom are facing social or economic barriers (ranging from poverty to low income), with opportunities to develop the skills and acquire the knowledge needed to achieve financial independence.
Cornerstone Alliance Small Business Services works with local business owners with access to capital for start-up and existing businesses poised for growth. As an SBA microloan intermediary, they service small businesses located in Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties.
