Symphony Fund Raiser ‘Party on Island Time’ Set May 7 at Mendel Center

Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra fans will be swapping the ‘black ties’ for colorful beach wear as they invite area ‘Parrot Heads’ to “Party on Island Time!,” at the SMSO’s annual dinner and auction fundraiser, Saturday, May 7 at the Mendel Center Grand Upton Hall.

The SMSO is excited to be back in person with its annual event which will feature a live auction, silent auction, dinner and a live band! They hope that attendees will dress in island attire and come enjoy the music and excitement!

According to a Symphoney release, the fun doesn’t stop with just a dinner and a live and silent auction; those in attendance will have the opportunity to enjoy a limbo contest and dance to the sounds of Johnny Russler and the Beach Bum Band as they bring the Margaritaville atmosphere to life!  In addition, there will be margaritas and a signature specialty drink available for purchase at the cash bar.

Tickets are $125 per person, or you can gather your friends and buy a table of 8 for $900. Included with your ticket will also be one complimentary drink ticket to use at our cash bar.

Appetizers with flavors from the islands will be served during the social hour as attendees look at the items that are being auctioned. Dinner will be served from two meal stations with a choice of island themed food, followed by a featured dessert from The Flour Shop of Stevensville.

The live auction, limbo contest, photo booth, raffle drawing and dancing will add more entertainment for your evening of fun! Prizes will be awarded to the limbo contest winners!
