SMSO Plans July 3rd Concert with St. Joseph Fireworks

In what’s become a St. Joseph Independence Day holiday tradition, the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra (SMSO) has announced plans for its annual July 3rd concert at Silver Beach Shadowland Pavilion.  The concert’s theme is ‘A Salute to America.’

Gates will open at 7:30 PM, Monday, July 3, with the concert starting at 8:30 PM.

The SMSO will pay tribute to America and its steadfast strength with a mixture of patriotic favorites, film scores and iconic American works. As the sun sets and darkness falls, the orchestra will play as the fireworks begin! The explosions overhead are in sync with the 1812 Overture and serve as the perfect backdrop to the SMSO performance.

Food trucks will be available before and during the concert and will have a wide variety of cuisine and beverages from which to choose. The food trucks, which are cash only, will include Lou’s Red Hots, Lost Coast Shave Ice, Ben’s Soft Pretzels and Wood, Stock and Grill.

The tickets for the concerts are $25 for lawn seating, $35 for reserved seating, $5 for students ages 6-17 and children ages 5 and under are free. In addition, patrons can purchase a table which includes 10 tickets and 2 VIP parking passes.  Call the SMSO office for table pricing and reservations.

A Symphony on the Water’s Edge pass is good for 4 discounted lawn seating tickets used in any combination to any of the SMSO’s 2023 Water’s Edge Series for $80.

Tickets and passes are available by calling the SMSO office at 269-982-4030, visiting the website at www.smso.org, or can be purchased on the day of the event at the gate.

All concerts in the Symphony on the Water’s Edge series are held at the Shadowland Pavilion located in Silver Beach County Park, 101 Broad St., St. Joseph.

Gates open an hour before the beginning of the concert.

Cash is required for Food Trucks; there are no ATMs onsite.
