A 13-year industry veteran and consistent high level performer has been tabbed as the new President of the Southwestern Michigan Association of Realtors for 2018. He is Robert Kaufman, a licensed salesman with @properties Michigan in New Buffalo.
Kaufman was installed as the 2018 President of not only the Southwestern Michigan Association of Realtors, Inc., he also heads up the Real Estate Information System of Southwestern Michigan, Inc. He was installed at a recent event by Jason Copeman, the 2017 President of the Michigan Realtors Association.
Robert has been licensed since 2005 and holds the National Association of Realtors professional designation of Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR). He has served on the Board of Directors for the Southwestern Michigan Association of Realtors and the Real Estate Information System of Southwestern Michigan since 2012.
Prior to taking the reins as 2018 President, Robert served as Treasurer in 2016 and President-Elect last year. He has also served on the Finance, Grievance and Public Relations Committees. Robert was the recipient of the Most Effective Committee Chairman award in 2010 for his chairmanship of the Public Relations Committee.
Robert has consistently been an MLS Sales Producer earning many MLS Production Awards including the Silver Award four times, the Gold Award three times and the Platinum Award once. He also received the Silver Life Award eight years ago in 2010.
Robert and his wife Renny reside in Sawyer.

At another function held earlier in December, the 2017 President, George Lucas from RE/MAX Harbor Country in Union Pier, also presented Kaufman with the coveted President’s Cup Award. The President’s Cup is awarded annually to a Realtor who best exemplifies the spirit of the Realtors Code of Ethics as stated by the Golden Rule, “Whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them” and also contributes their time and talents to the Association and its MLS.
George also presented Ryan Servatius, Century 21 Affiliated of South Haven, as the recipient of the 2017 Most Effective Committee Chairman award for his work chairing the Governmental Affairs Committee.
