| Dr. Valk comes to Southwest Michigan Dermatology with 4 years of experience, specializing in a comprehensive range of dermatology services, from general dermatology to the latest in cosmetic dermatological treatments. With a passion for providing personalized care, Dr. Valk is dedicated to helping patients achieve not only healthy skin but also their aesthetic goals.

Dr. Valk received her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her dermatology residency at Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills, where she served as chief resident. Board-certified in dermatology, Dr. Valk prides herself in being a lifestyle dermatologist with an emphasis on skin cancer detection and prevention, the treatment of hair loss, acne, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and overall skin wellness.
Dr. Valk enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with their goldendoodle, Finnegans. Her husband, Josiah Valk, D.O. will be joining Southwest Michigan Center for Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine as a sports and shoulder surgeon in the fall of 2025. “We are looking forward to putting down roots in the St. Joseph community.” added Dr. Valk. Her favorite part about Michigan summers is spending time with family and friends on Lake Michigan.
