Sunny Harvest Farms in Eau Claire Evolves to Launch of CSA Delivery to Your Door

Kyle Froehlich has seen and done a lot in the eight years since he graduated with a degree in business management back in 2012, especially now that he’s been forced like so many other businesses to reinvent ways to keep the wheels of commerce churning in Michigan’s Great Southwest.

Froehlich started his own farm, Sunny Harvest Farms of Eau Claire, that year after graduating from Central Michigan University. Having already learned a great deal about diversification on the farm from both his parents and grandparents, he developed a deep love for working on the farm whether it was shaking cherries, packing strawberries or grading tomatoes.

One thing was certain…he wanted very much to continue the tradition of his family legacy in providing the people of our region with fresh, local, quality produce. But, he also wanted those who were buying his produce to recognize his drive for flavor and quality by being able to craft a relationship with them over the counter at farmers markets. He wanted to build their trust.

After marrying his wife Jessica they began together in erecting their first greenhouse at Sunny Harvest to grow hydroponic tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, grape tomatoes and things like pickles and European Cucumbers.

By 2015 they had completed the process of transitioning portions of their land to be Certified Naturally Grown and launched the planting of greens, onions and more utilizing those practices.

Last year they built a second greenhouse in a bid to bring more early crops to customers at farmers markets in Illinois, all in addition to dozens of acres of vegetables and orchards filled with a vast array of tree fruits.

Then along came the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, and Kyle & Jessica Froehlich fully recognize that new options are being sought by concerned customers worried about food safety and trips to the grocery store.

The result is the launch of the new Sunny Harvest Farms Community Supported Agriculture program which delivers fresh produce to you every week throughout the entire growing season right to your door.

Kyle says, “Due to COVID-19 we know that our customers are looking for even safer ways of acquiring their produce and we also wanted to be able offer these options to our own local community, which has been a goal for us when we began farming. Thus the beginning of the launch of our CSA.”

Kyle adds, “Eight years of selling retail has been a blessing and has showed us how important quality, flavor, and variety is to our customers.”

Now, anyone can sign up to receive an incredible selection of nutritious, local, fresh produce for themselves or their family.

Kyle says, “Enjoy the value of supporting your local farmer, while we support you. We offer doorstep delivery and a variety of produce, clean and delivered safely to your home.” All untouched by any other consumer.

Community Supported Agriculture – or CSA  – is also referred to as a farm share. A CSA program is a business model many farmers &  producers like Sunny Harvest Farms use to connect with local consumers directly – by allowing them to buy into a share of their crops before they have been harvested.

Those who are interested will get 22 shares from June-through-October of a great variety of in-sesason produce delivered weekly. Sunny Harvest Farm is focused on quality and they pledge that you will always get fruits and vegetables with excellent flavor.
