Posting to its loyal followers on Facebook, the owners of State Street Treats at 319 State Street in St. Joseph have made the decision to close their doors for good.
“State Street Treats will not be reopening in the spring. We have a lot of equipment that needs to be cleared out of the storefront. Everything must go!”
The business had been listed for sale since September 2022 at $175,000, but with a recently refreshed price in August of this year listing the business at $60,000.
The equipment listed for sale through their Facebook listing includes popcorn equipment, display cabinets, refrigerators and freezers, soft serve ice cream machines, and tables and chairs.
According to the real estate listing still posted online: “Make State Street Treats your own. This hopping soft serve and popcorn shop is busy all summer and throughout the year with various fundraisers. Keep things going as currently established or expand operations for the local community throughout the year. Turn-key business for sale, no real estate included in the sale. Property is leased on a yearly basis.”
Prior to becoming State Street Treats, the location was Yo Bubbs frozen yogurt.
