If you’ve been working home during the pandemic and now you’re heading back into the office, how should you greet people? Neal Gilbert is the practice director for Robert Half in Grand Rapids. She spoke with Michigan News Network about
“Some people are huggers,” Gilbert said. “They want to go up there and they haven’t seen you in a couple of years and they want to give you a big old hug and say hi and do all those different things. However, here are people out there who are a little more apprehensive about that type of greeting. So, it’s important when you get into the environment to feel it out.”
Gilbert says a fist bump may be more appropriate. Another issue that may come up is distractions. Gilbert says you may need to find a quieter place in the office to get work done or wear noise-canceling headphones.
