The owners of St. Joseph’s South Cliff Inn Bed and Breakfast, Wilfredo and Brandy Jaquez, are passing the torch to St. Joseph newcomers, Daniel and Allison Schultz. Daniel and Allison purchased the property with Daniel’s father, Stephen Schultz, earkier this month.. They hope to reopen by January 28th, in time for the St. Joe Winter Beer Fest.
Wilfredo and Brandy Jaquez have owned and run the award-winning B&B since January of 2018 with great success, even being featured on ABC’s Good Morning America and drawing guests from all across the country. Their success extends to their wedding venue, Sunrise Farms, located on Hillandale Road, East of Benton Harbor.
The Jaquez’s commented:
“More than five years ago we had the honor to become Innkeepers of this magical property. While we have loved this adventure, we have made the hard decision to hang up our aprons and pass the spatula to new owners.
We are so happy that we found Daniel and Allison and their family to continue the legacy of this place. They are going to be wonderful hosts and we know you all will be in good hands.”
Daniel and Allison Schultz, with backgrounds in digital marketing and hospitality, have moved from outside of Chicago onto the property to manage the day to day operations, bringing their 4 children with them. From the rural, stone cottage they stayed in on their honeymoon in Northern Illinois, to the bed and breakfast they stayed in during an anniversary trip to Ireland, they’ve long dreamed of the opportunity to create their own cozy environments for others to enjoy.
Stephen Schultz, with a background of financial leadership for non-profits and prior real estate investments, will help manage and direct the operations of the Inn. He said, “We’re so excited, not just to craft experiences for others in this beautiful area, but to create memories and connections for us as a family in this community.” .
The Schultz family begins this new endeavor with hopes to continue and build on the legacy Wilfredo and Brandy have established in the community. They say guests can expect to receive the same exceptional care and ultimate experience as they did with the previous owners.
South Cliff Inn is expected to open up reservations by January 27. Bookings can be made on their website, www.southcliffinnsj.com, by phone by calling 269.983.4881, or by sending an email to southcliffinn@gmail.com.
