St. Joseph Public Schools Hires New Superintendent

St. Joseph Public Schools has selected their new leader.

Dr. Thomas Bruce, who has spent over 10 years as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction at the Arcadia Unified School District in California, will replace Ann Cardon, who is leaving to take a new position as Superintendent of Schools in Traverse City.

Bruce was announced as the selected candidate at last night’s Board of Education meeting among one other finalist, Thomas Livezy, who is acting Superintendent at Oakridge Schools.

The vote to hire Bruce was unanimous. Contract details have yet to be negotiated.

Bruce is no stranger to the state of Michigan, having grown up in Howell, Michigan. He and his wife will bring their family of two daughters to St. Joseph in time for the start of the school year.
