Calling all book lovers in St. Joseph– As of Monday, February 28th, the St. Joseph / Maud Preston Palenske Memorial Library will be open to the public. They have been offering curbside service since the beginning of the pandemic, and have been Curbside Only for the past few weeks.
The reopening on February 28th also brings back their normal business hours, which are:
Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Friday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
With two active book clubs, story time, and Take-Home crafts, the library is a fabulous resource for fun and learning. The Men’s Book Club, Scholars and Scoundrels, meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m, and the Lake Bluff Discussion Group meets via Zoom on the last Wednesday of every month. Story Time will begin in May, and summer programs in the garden are being planned now.
Not sure what to read next? The library now offers Book Bundles, which are similarly themed titles handpicked by their helpful staff. Choose your genre and receive three or four books that they know you will love.
The Friends of The Library is also accepting used books for their Annual Used Book Sale. Proceeds from this sale supports the library, and the date of the sale will be announced as we inch closer to Spring.
