The St. Joseph City Commission will conduct interviews for the position of city manager next week.

The city says the interviews will start at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10 at St. Joseph City Hall.

Commissioners could opt to hire a new manager following the interviews during a special meeting. They could also wait until their next regular meeting.

The two candidates being interviewed are current St. Joseph Assistant City Manager Emily Hackworth and Bridgman City Manager Juan Ganum. The two were selected for the final round of consideration after the city commission received more than 20 applicants for the job.

A new manager is being hired as current City Manager John Hodgson is retiring this fall after more than 30 years of service to the city. He’s been city manager since 2015.
