Coming up next Friday, the city of St. Joseph will light up the bluff for the holidays.
St. Joe Today’s Daniele Crevier tells us the St. Joseph High School Choir will kick off Light Up the Bluff downtown at 6 p.m. with some Christmas carols, and then the tree lighting will be at 6:30.
The entire bluff will be decorated for the season, and it’s quite the display.
“There’s about a million holiday lights that are going to transform Lake Bluff Park into a winter wonderland, and it’s viewable daily between 5.30 a.m. and 8.30 a.m., and then they shut off for a bit and then turn on again from 5.30 p.m. to midnight,” Crevier said. “Those hours start on December 7, so that’s Saturday, and that will go all the way through about February 15.”
Crevier says Light Up the Bluff always attracts a large crowd eager to see the light show. Downtown shops will run special promotions with some staying open late for the evening.
Crevier notes the annual Reindog Parade is the following day at 3 p.m. That’s a parade of dogs through the downtown area featuring Santa, who will then be stationed downtown for the season.
Everyone’s invited to downtown St. Joseph next weekend to get in the holiday spirit.
