St. Joe Farmers Market Marks Return to Lake Bluff Park Memorial Day Weekend

Another sure sign of an awesome summer in Michigan’s Great Southwest is the annual return of farm fresh goodness along Lake Bluff Park in downtown St. Joseph overlooking the waters of Lake Michigan, the Whirlpool Compass Rose Fountain and beyond. Make plans to be there when the season debuts on the Saturday of the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend.

Market-goers will enjoy fresh finds at the weekly St. Joe Farmers Market held in scenic Lake Bluff Park in downtown St. Joe. The 2021 Farmers Market season officially kicks off on Saturday, May 29th from 9:00am– 2:00pm and includes a variety of products such as homemade goods, locally grown produce, perennials and cut flowers, meats and cheeses, coffee and more.

Amy Zapal, Executive Director of St. Joseph Today says, “We are excited to work with local growers to spotlight the amazing produce coming from our region’s spectacular farms. This year we’re looking forward to welcoming a few new vendors to the market!”

Farmers Markets have grown in popularity as the demand for fresh, locally sourced produce and goods has increased. Zapal encourages everyone, “Take the time to chat with vendors who will share recipes, planting recommendations and cooking tips.” The Farmers Market will be open Saturdays from May 29th through October 9th (no market held on July 10th due to the Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff), 9:00am – 2:00pm each week, and is held in Lake Bluff Park, between Broad and Pleasant Streets.

Shoppers will enjoy extended market hours, 9:00a – 5:00p, on June 5th, July 17th, September 4th and 25th in conjunction with the Lake Bluff Artisan Fair which will be to the north and south of the St. Joe Farmers Market.
