A physician from Southwest Michigan has been honored by the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) for his more than 50 years of service.
The MSMS issued the following statement in recognition of Dennis C. Szymanski, MD, a board certified neurosurgeon from St. Joseph.
Dennis C. Szymanski, MD, was recently honored by the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) for his over 50 years of outstanding service to his patients and the medical profession. Doctor Szymanski was formally recognized for his exceptional contributions to the medical field at the 159th annual MSMS House of Delegates meeting.
Doctor Szymanski graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Henry Ford Health System. In addition to providing exceptional quality care and counsel to his patients and their families, Doctor Szymanski has also generously given his time and expertise to MSMS and his colleagues, notably having served as chair of the MSMS House of Delegates Ways and Means Committee from 2001 to 2023.
The Michigan State Medical Society is the statewide professional association operating as the voice of all physicians in Michigan and is affiliated with the American Medical Association. Physician policies on various issues involving public health, health care delivery and medical ethics are set at the annual MSMS House of Delegates meeting.
In addition to his medical service, Dr. Szymanski is also an active member of the Heritage Museum and Cultural Center in St. Joseph.
