Still facing “too many unknowns and uncertainties,” organizers of the popular South Haven HarborFest have announced this afternoon the decision to cancel that major event again in 2021.
Just like everyone else working to sort through the situation, it was not an easy decision to arrived at, but here is the brief message released this afternoon:
After an enormous amount of thought, including discussions with community leaders and health professionals, the HarborFest Committee has made the difficult decision to cancel HarborFest for 2021.
While trends in terms of the Covid infection rates are encouraging and regional vaccination programs are ramping up, we feel there are still too many unknowns and uncertainties with the ever changing restrictions and guidelines, to allow us to proceed forward in safely hosting our wonderful festival.
Our goal is to come back strong in 2022 with amazing music, vendors, activities and fun that everyone has come to expect and enjoy at South Haven’s HarborFest! Stay safe and be well.
