One of South Haven’s largest employers is getting an Industrial Facilities Tax Exemption for an expansion. Assistant City Manager Griffin Graham told the city council of the plans by WR Grace.
“They have an ongoing construction project going on on their property. They’re looking to invest approximately $30 million into the community, which is an amazing thing. One of the tools that our organization has to support an investment like this is IFTs.”
Graham outlined what the company wants to build.
“Consisting of the construction of a three-story building to accommodate an 800-mm centrifuge as well as a warehouse to accommodate work-in-progress materials.”
The expansion will create 20 new jobs over two years and retain all existing jobs. City Manager Kate Hosier called it an exciting project and says the jobs are high-paying.
