The 65th annual South Haven Art Fair is set for July 6 and 7 at Stanley Johnston Park in South Haven.

The South Haven Center for the Arts says joining the Art Fair this year will be 118 artists across twelve media categories that include painting, photography, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry, wood, fiber, and mixed media.

Among those joining the fair from ten states are artists from Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties who are both returning and stopping by for the first time. They will include Marcy Mitchell, a landscape painter from Dowagiac, and Michael Brown, a painter from South Haven.

The South Haven Center for the Arts invites all visitors to explore art materials hands-on at its free family art tent, where caricature artist Chris LaPorte will add another opportunity for visitors to engage with the art-making process.

Each year, the fair is judged by professional artists with more than $1,500 awarded to the artists. Eight of last year’s award winners will be joining again this year, including first place winner Suphattra Pollack from East Lansing, who forms anatomical flowers from clay and paints them with oil colors.

The South Haven Art Fair is free for all to attend, and a shuttle bus from Baseline Middle School will be running throughout the fair for additional parking.
