**Update: Boil Advisory lifted as of 5:23pm on 1/12/2022**
The South Haven Water & Sewer Authority has issued a Boil Water Notice due to a water main break at the 900 block of Wells Street, near Bailey Avenue, on Monday, January 10th. The South Haven area and Casco Township have both been affected, closing South Haven District schools and businesses for the second day this week. School was dismissed early on Monday.
Until further notice, water used for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled before consumption to ensure the destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes. To do this correctly, bring water to a rolling boil and continue for a minimum of two minutes.
The water main break has been isolated, and the Boil Water notice will exist for a minimum of 72 hours, as once the repairs are finished the water must be tested for bacteria. Please continue to boil your water until water system officials release a statement notifying the public that the water is safe for consumption.
