The community of South Haven has an 8-pack of new citizen firefighters on the job helping to keep the community safe.
South Haven Area Emergency Services has introduced eight new citizen, part-time paid, firefighters, following a Fire Academy Graduation ceremony that was held last evening, Monday, June 15th.
The graduation capped off a challenging eight-month-long process toward becoming state-certified firefighters for each of the eight. Fire officials say that even the current pandemic was not about to discourage the determined group of recruits.
In addition to the South Haven Area Emergency Services group, there were firefighter candidates from Bangor, Lawrence and Paw Paw in the Fire Academy class.
