The Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra is inviting you to “take a trip to the movies of yesterday” with a great selection of memorable film music! From westerns to outer space, light-hearted songs, and everything in-between, this cinematic voyage will have you tapping your toes while chasing adventure. Featuring Music Director finalist Timothy Verville, selections include music by Oscar-nominated and winning composers Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone, Elmer Bernstein, Danny Elfman, and others.
Celebrate with the SMSO on Saturday, August 14th at 6:30pm, at the Shadowland Pavilion in St. Joseph. Gates open at 5:30!
According to the Symphony office, this program contains familiar pieces that all ages will recognize: Popular cinematic themes like Singing in the Rain, The Magnificent Seven, Robin Hood, Pearl Harbor, The Mission “Gabriel’s Oboe”, and familiar main themes such as Star Trek and Batman.
