The Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra presents A Salute to America at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3. This annual celebration features a mix of patriotic favorites, film scores and iconic American works with the 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky timed to an outstanding fireworks display over Lake Michigan to cap this spectacular celebration!
The A Salute to America concert will feature a variety of food trucks to give concert goers a choice of food, snacks and drinks to purchase, if desired. Food trucks include Crepes by the Lake, La Chula Mobile, Ben’s Soft Pretzels and Lost Coast Shave Ice. The SMSO will also have a tent where adults over 21 (ID required) will be able to purchase beer and wine.
The end of July brings Peter and the Wolf, a family-friendly mini concert event to the Shadowland Ballroom in the Silver Beach Center. Prokofiev’s enchanting and timeless classic is tailored for young ears, ideal for budding music lovers ages 3-9.
What has become a highly sought after summer concert series, the SMSO’s summer Pop-Up! Series will continue at various outdoor locations. - Single tickets are $30 for adult lawn seating, $40 for reserved seating, $10 for youth ages 6-17. Children ages 5 and under are free. A limited number of tables are available for purchase and include 8 tickets and 2 VIP parking passes. Call the office for more details or to reserve free tickets for children ages 5 and under..
Peter and the Wolf, Saturday, July 27, 2024. Two shows: 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The July 27 Peter and the Wolf concerts will be held at the Shadowland Ballroom at Silver Beach Center, 333 Broad St.,St. Joseph.
- Each presentation for Peter and the Wolf is limited to 200 tickets. The prices are $30 for adults, $10 for youth ages 6-17 and children ages 5 and under are $5. A free parking pass for use during the selected concert is included with each adult ticket purchased as well as complimentary carousel tokens. Tickets for these performances are limited so reserve your seat now!
