St. Joseph’s downtown promotional organization will be looking for a new leader.
St. Joseph Today Executive Director Amy Zapal is leaving her post to join the Corewell Health Foundation in a yet-to-be-named position. Zapal shared her plans in a note to current and former SJT board members and friends of the organization.
My time at SJT has been an incredible journey, and I’m profoundly grateful for the chance to collaborate with the outstanding team, dedicated board members, volunteers, and the diverse businesses and nonprofits that are the heart of the organization. Your unwavering support through shared challenges and the constant inspiration you provide have been invaluable.
When I stepped into the role of SJT’s executive director, my primary aim was to fortify the organization’s foundation while charting an exciting new path that would further benefit our community. As I conclude this chapter and embark on a new one, I hope I’ve done justice to your expectations and made each of you proud. I’m confident that SJT is well-positioned for the future, thanks to each one of you. I look forward to working with the same vigor, excitement, and commitment in my new position.
Zapal starts her new job at Corewell in January. It’s expected the St. Joseph Today board will soon seek applications for the Executive Director position, which is ‘the face and voice’ of promoting downtown St. Joseph and oversees many large public events downtown year-round.
