When the first mortars fire a week from Wednesday night on the City of St. Joseph Independence Day Firworks at Silver Beach, you can expect to see an even more spectacular show than was presented a year ago, all thanks to the generosity of nearly a dozen and a half corporate and organizational donors who have all chipped in for the big show.
The reason the show will be even more spectacular than a year ago is the success of the fundraising to make it all happen. St. Joseph City Manager John Hodgson and the St. Joseph City Commission will publicly thank the donors who make the show possible when the Commission meets tonight at City Hall.
Hodgson says, “Once again, we are fortunate that generous local firms have stepped up to not only make the Independence Day Fireworks at Silver Beach possible, but to make them even better!”
These are the donors to the fireworks show which will be launched from the waterfront over Lake Michigan on Wednesday, the 3rd of July this year:
- Abonmarche Consultants
- Chemical Bank
- Conybeare Law Office
- Edgewater Bank
- Horizon Bank
- IMS Insurance Management Services
- Kilwins
- Kruggel Lawton
- Plante Moran
- Prism Science & Technologies
- RE/MAX By the Lake
- Joseph Today
- Silver Beach Pizza
- Spectrum Health Lakeland
- Straub, Seaman & Allen Attorneys at Law
- United Federal Credit Union
- Whirlpool Corporation
Hodgson tells us, “The fundraising goal was $10,000, but these companies contributed $13,750, beating their target by nearly 40-percent!” He adds, “All contributions will go toward the fireworks–as will $1,500 that was contributed to last year’s show in excess of the target amount. So this year’s show will benefit from $5,250 in contributions above the goal, which will result in more fireworks during the show.”
Hodgson also reminds the viewing public that the Independence Day Fireworks at Silver Beach are July 3rd, at 10 pm this year, and he’s hopeful for great weather and a grand celebration.
