Spectrum Health Lakeland is welcoming general surgeon, Allison Hoch, DO, as well as Hillary Edgerly, NP, and Genna Grondin, NP, to the medical staff. Dr. Hoch, Edgerly, and Grondin join a growing team of surgical specialists providing care to thousands of people across Southwest Michigan.
Dr. Hoch earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and Spanish language from the University of Michigan and received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her general surgery residency at Beaumont Farmington Hills and a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Beaumont Royal Oak. Dr. Hoch is a member of the American Board of Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, and American Board of Surgery, General Surgery.
“As a general surgeon, I want to ensure that my patients feel informed and confident going into any surgery,” said Dr. Hoch. “It’s a great joy to see a patient improve and heal. Whether someone is choosing a general approach or minimally invasive surgery, my goal is to provide them with information, so they are comfortable with their care approach.”
Hillary Edgerly earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree from American Sentinel College of Nursing & Health Sciences at Post University and a Master of Science in nursing degree for family nurse practitioner from Frontier Nursing University. She has worked in the health care field for over 15 years, serving in medical oncology as a nurse tech and later as a registered nurse.
Genna Grondin earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree from Mississippi College and a Master of Science in nursing degree for family nurse practitioner from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Prior to joining Lakeland, she was a family nurse practitioner at EC Health Net Family Health Center in Meridian Mississippi.
“Surgical nurse practitioners play a prominent role on our surgical team. They are instrumental in pre-operation assessments, educating patients and family members, monitoring patients’ post-surgery, and assisting patients with recovery,” said Jeff Grossman, director of specialty practices, Spectrum Health Lakeland. “All three of these women bring years of health care experience and expertise to our system, which make them highly-trained to provide exceptional skilled care to our community.”
