You’ve gotta love it when doing the right thing pays a handsome dividend, and nobody will enjoy that more than the crew at The Inn at Harbor Shores in St. Joseph next week. The staff has learned that their hard work at saving energy is paying off nicely and the proof arrives on Tuesday when they will pick up a rebate check for nearly $7-grand.
Indiana Michigan Power will present the team at The Inn at Harbor Shores with a rebate check worth nearly $7,000 on Tuesday as their reward for being energy efficient with their lighting program. The resort hotel is receiving the check for the energy efficient lighting upgrades installed throughout the property. A presentation ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, April 25 at 2:00pm in the lobby of the hotel and is open to the public.
Jason Whitman, Energy Efficiency and Consumer Programs Coordinator from Indiana Michigan Power will present the check to The Inn’s General Manager, Brady Cohen. Cohen says, “This is just another step toward doing our part in the community while taking good care of our guests.”
By switching out incandescent fixtures in exchange for more efficient, longer-lasting LEDs, the lighting improvements throughout the property have created a brighter, more modern look that also helps the hotel save energy. The lighting upgrades have saved more than 119,000 kWh, which is equivalent to powering 13 homes per year.
