Pandemic Puts Special Emphasis on National Doctor’s Day Monday

It’s been celebrated every year on the same day near the end of March for 174 years, but tomorrow’s designation as National Doctor’s Day will undoubtedly hold special significance for many among us during the current pandemic.

Monday, March 30th, 2020 is once again slated as National Doctor’s Day.

The following is a public statement from Mohammed Arsiwala, MD, president of the Michigan State Medical Society in acknowledgement of that observation. National Doctors’ Day is a day to celebrate physicians who devotedly serve their communities by caring for our country’s citizens. First observed in 1933, National Doctors’ Day is held every year on March 30th.

“In years past, National Doctors’ Day is an occasion that may have passed without much notice, but it should not be like that this year. As our entire Michigan community finds itself navigating these unprecedented and stressful times, Michigan physicians continue to occupy their posts, putting their own health at risk while providing the care and support patients desperately need. These men and women on the front lines battling for the health of all Michigan patients deserve our thanks.”

Take a moment to thank those who are taking care of Michigan’s Great Southwest and beyond.
