The Post Office at the Orchards Mall has closed. The U.S. Postal Service says, “To ensure the safety of both postal customers and employees,” the office shut down temporarily on Wednesday. The Postal Services cited “safety conditions,” without elaborating. Customers who use the mall location can now retrieve PO box mail at the Benton Harbor Post Office on Riverview Drive. It’s about four miles away. The mall Post Office has two employees. The U.S. Postal Service has not said when the mall location could reopen.
