Online Auction to Benefit Lakeshore Excellence

We all know that the amazingly mild weather of the past weekend is unlikely to continue for very long. This is, after all, Michigan and it's winter. The good news is once the snow and ice return to your front porch and you decide that you want to remain cozy by the fireplace, the crew at the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation will be ready to provide a little online shopping entertainment for you from the convenience of your own home or office.

Sharon Austin is Treasurer for the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation and she says they will launch an exciting online auction slated to run from January 30th through February 10th, bringing you some unique and one-of-a-kind items on the auction block including a getaway to Chicago or a family vacation in Georgia. Perhaps you know a football fan or an artsy pal who has a birthday or other special occasion coming up soon.

This special auction to directly benefit the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation will be strictly online only. It is a silent auction fundraiser offering up a great line up of gifts that have been generously donated to the foundation so that every penny from the sale will go for projects at the Lakeshore Public Schools as approved by the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation. Those who will benefit include teachers, students, and the entire community.

One of the truly unique items on the bid sheet is a weekend stay at the Ford Plantation in Savannah, Georgia. That's an 1,880-acre premier sporting community boasting a Pete Dye Golf Course, a 22-stall equestrian center, deep water access marina, fishing, family-friendly pursuits, a spa, fitness center and culinary traditions that will satisfy even the most discerning foodie.

Another unique experience offered up is dinner for six at the World of Whirlpool in downtown Chicago including cocktails, appetizers and dinner in a remarkable setting high atop the city.

How about a three-hour French History Tour of the area including a picnic lunch? The first European settlement in Michigan was French and our state was once part of New France. Take the tour when you win the bid and learn more.

You will also have a shot at buying a Singing Valentine from the Lakeshore High School Choir.

Mark your calendar to log onto the link below beginning January 30th and each day through February 10th when the online auction will conclude. Follow them on Facebook for updates along the way.
