The Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber is gearing up for its 2025 Breakfast and Business Recognition Awards, set for February 21.
The chamber’s Sarah Spoonholtz tells us they’re taking nominations now for several categories.
“If you know a business, an organization, an individual, or a community — something new for this year — that has done really great things this last year, we want to be able to recognize them and let you, who are in attendance, our guests, actually pick the winners,” Spoonholtz said.
The deadline to submit a nomination is January 7, so time is running out.
Spoonholtz says voting for the awards will take place in real time at the event as those in attendance will choose which businesses to honor. And there will be a lot of people in attendance.
“Last year we had 630 people in attendance, so this year we’re hoping for 650 to 700. That is our goal for it, and we are just definitely excited about the event.”
There are several awards to be decided. They are the Economic Impact Award, the Small Business of the Year Award, the Non-Profit Excellence Award, the Best New Business Award, and new this year — the Community Placemaking Award, which will go to a Berrien, Cass, or Van Buren County community that’s been making efforts to attract new visitors.
Tickets to the awards are now available, and Spoonholtz says the chamber is looking forward to seeing everyone there.
