Nominations Now Open for SJ Public Schools Distinguished Alumni

St. Joseph Public School Alums…who among your classmates over the years is worthy of the highly regarded honor of being named a Distinguished Alumni at next summer’s graduation ceremonies?

Take a trip down memory lane and consider submitting a nomination for the 2020 St. Joseph Public Schools Foundation Distinguished Alumni Awards next June.

Attorney Robert Ehrenberg, from the St. Joe Class of 1971 and also Chair of the St. Joseph Public Schools Foundation Distinguished Alumni Award Committee, is accepting nominations for the 2020 awards, which will be presented as a part of graduation Sunday next June.

Founded in 2012, the Distinguished Alumni award recognizes St. Joseph High School Alumni who have excelled in their professions and made significant contributions to their communities. Each year, the committee undertakes the rewarding and challenging task of reviewing nominations and selecting deserving honorees. Ehrenberg notes that, “With only 24 award recipients to date, our Distinguished Alumni honorees are members of a group of exceptional alumni, who have excelled in their career paths and contributed to the betterment of their communities and, in many cases, our nation.”

Nominations for the 2020 Award can be made until December 15, 2019. Information about the Distinguished Alumni Award, past honorees and a nomination form for the 2020 awards can be found at the link posted below for your convenience:

The St. Joseph Public School Foundation serves as the academic “booster club” for the school district. It was founded in 1996 in response to the passage of Proposal A, which transferred school funding away from local communities to Lansing, leaving a shortfall in funds to support the programming that has established the St. Joseph district as one of the best districts in Michigan. Since its inception, the foundation has generated and returned more than $3 million dollars to the district to support academic programming at all grade levels.
